Division Enrichment Coordinator

The Division Enrichment Coordinator is committed to student success and will work to support both undergraduate and graduate students as they maneuver through their academic, social, and professional endeavors.

The DEC will be a resource for students, faculty, staff, and other members in the Division with the goal of facilitating an environment where all members of GPS can do impactful work, research and learning.

List of responsibilities:

  • Coordinate inreach and outreach for various division groups.
  • Be a point of contact to direct division members to Institute DEI resources and Institute affinity groups.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Caltech Center for Teaching, Learning, and Outreach (CTLO) and the Caltech Center for Inclusion and Diversity (CCID) as needed for teaching/mentorship education.
  • Assist the Division Academic Manager in organizing Division and Institute-wide activities supporting graduate student recruitment, such as Future Ignited and Caltech Shines, and facilitate graduate student recruitment through national organizations such as NSBE, SWE, Rising Stars, etc.
  • Assist in recruiting underrepresented students and postdocs, including travel to conferences and other universities.
  • Help organize mentoring programs and events that enhance division culture for graduate students and postdocs.
